Lisa Banks and her two brothers were raised in a two-parent household filled with love, respect, and a strong foundation of faith in God that shaped who she is today.

Her late father was a preacher for over 50 years, as well as a gospel recording artist and songwriter. Through his pastoring, music, songwriting, and constant connection with people, he showed Lisa the full picture of life — the highs, the struggles, the victories, the heartaches, and everything in between.

Her late mother was the nurturer. She poured into Lisa lessons about life, relationships, and how to handle both the expected and the unexpected — especially in marriage — without losing herself or becoming bitter. She taught her how to find joy, even in hard places.

With that kind of foundation on both sides, Lisa developed a deep understanding of human emotions. She learned early that life is not always easy, but every season — good or challenging — comes with an opportunity to grow, learn, forgive, heal, and remain grateful.

Through her understanding of the pressures that come with relationships — marriage, parent and child, friendships, family, and even our relationship with God — Lisa developed a unique ability to write about the human experience in a real and meaningful way.

Combined with her personal relationship with Christ and her commitment to trusting God even in uncertain times, writing became her emotional language.
